This was our second year in entering the 48 Hours competition in the Hamilton region where teams from around New Zealand compete to make a short film from conception to completion within 48 hours. Each film is randomly picked a genre and all have to include a prop (a brush), the line of dialogue “wait a minute” and a character named Kerry Post who is a perfectionist.

We drew Horror as our random genre and I personally hate most horror films these days. Well, more specifically, the ‘torture porn’ films like Hostel and the god awful Saw movies, so it’s a little ironic then that in the end we ended up with something that can be similarly classed in that genre and I had a little gleeful fun in making it. Our original intentions were to make a serious short film, one that is to the point of horror and no more, but of course, we, or at least I, couldn’t help but get a little silly.

For our efforts we were awarded best film in the Hamilton region and that was pretty neat-o.
