This was my first proper go at the V48 Hours furious filmmaking competition, where teams from around New Zealand compete to make a short film from conception to completion within 48 hours. Each film is randomly picked a genre and all have to include a rope as a prop, a line of dialogue (“what do you call that”) and a character Jerry Reid, a hypochondriac.

We got Grindhouse as our genre and needless to say, we had a lot of fun making this one. Production was plagued with faulty mics and that really shows in the end. But while this has some of the worst audio ever, I still really like this above most of the others just because of the sheer fun we had.

To our surprise, we were awarded the best runner up prize in the Hamilton region and Sash got a much deserved nomination for his role as Flash Sanders and should really grow his hair like that in real life.
